Assignment 2 is valued at 10 points and is an individual assignment. Evidence of collaboration will result in an "F" for all involved parties. Assignment 2 is due at the beginning of class on 2/24/05. Late work will not be accepted. If you anticipate being absent on the 22nd, turn the assignment in early. The assignment must be typed.
Your task is to
create a table of contents (TOC) for our client's Web marketing plan. Use your
textbook (Chapters 13 and 14) to learn about Web marketing plans, which are
roadmaps or blueprints for how Web marketing is to be accomplished. Use Google
or another search engine to find examples of Internet marketing plans. Combine
sources to develop a table of contents specific to our client - a small, local
bead shop. You have to realize that any plan outline that is available online
must be altered to fit our client. Do NOT copy an existing online plan word-for-word.
That is plagiarism AND it is not appropriate to the client. You must think through
what our client wants from the plan and what is appropriate to her situation.
Do not use more than two (2) pages for the TOC. Obviously, the TOC will not
have page numbers (that will come at the end of the semester), but include a
column heading for them in the appropriate place at the top of the first page.
On a third page, list all the sources you used to develop the knowledge needed
to create the TOC. Use the following formats for source citations:
If
you used a book, cite it as follows:
Author (first name and last name), book title, name of publisher, date of publication,
pages used.
If you used an online source, cite it as follows:
Author (first name and last name), title in quotation marks, source (name of
the host, for example bplans.com), date article was written (if that is not
available use the copyright date), URL (use the form http://), date you accessed
the online source.
Assemble the completed assignment in the following order:
cover page (name, class, assignment number, date)
marketing plan table of contents (2-page limit)
sources.
Staple the pages
together with one staple in the upper left-hand corner.
Five (5) points will be deducted for failure to follow these directions exactly.
Assignment 2 will be evaluated for thoughtfullness, completeness, Web marketing insight, following directions, and effort. If you have questions, ask them now... don't wait until the night before the assignment is due!
