Design Checklist Questions:

We have discussed how important it is to evaluate the audience before you begin to design a site and how the audience should drive the design.

1. Who is the target audience for the site?

2. Did the designer of the site analyze the audience and if so, how does the design/content of the site reflect that analysis?

3. Could you tell what was the most important part/content of the site? What was done from a design perspective to establish a level of importance?

4. Was each page titled appropriately so that the content you found on the page was accurately reflected in the title?

5. Page length - how were pages handled? Scrolling required or click to another page - how did this affect readability - flow of content?

6. Font/text size and style? Was font readable? Color of font?

7. Use of graphics? - Were graphics used wisely? Did they enhance, rather than detract from content? Were graphics used as links?

8. Navigation bar - was it consistent page to page? Was it text based? Where was navigation bar placed? Did it always have a link to "home"?

DRAW a rough site map for the site – see sample on back – indicate how pages were interrelated. Attach map to checklist.
